Claire Folkes

Claire Folkes is a small batch potter based near Saffron Walden, Essex, who hand throws all of her work on the potter’s wheel using both stoneware and porcelain, which is then fired to 1,240C.

"I particularly love the transformation from raw clay to a highly glazed finished surface, and my work always contains unglazed surfaces to highlight this contrast. The resulting pieces are highly tactile and are made to be used, handled and loved."
