Astrig Akseralian
Astrig paints in a playful contemporary narrative style depicting her love of flora and fauna. She works intuitively in acrylic paints, mainly on wooden cradle panels as the tough surface allows her to build layers, scrape through the paint and sand back in areas.
Astrig works in a series starting with playful mark making, enjoying the paint and colour combination. She alters the composition as she works until the balance harmonious . Some paintings reveal themselves quickly while others are a little more hesitant but all result in a multilayered, lively lyrical story.
