srgs wood
Samuel Souter is a maker of bespoke, handcrafted wooden furniture and homeware items. He created srgs woodwork in March 2020 in order to provide a friendly small-scale, customer-led service, whilst also producing his own range of functional homeware to sell at fairs and exhibitions. He is based in rural north-east Herefordshire, but was born-and-bred Cambridgeshire and still visits family there regularly.
“When designing items, I tend to gravitate towards a style of woodwork that is quite angular and linear (even when circular!). I like crisp, sharp lines and items that benefit from careful proportions and balance. They're often quite simply designed – with an appreciation for un-fussy aesthetics, my pieces tend to have a simplicity and modesty to them. I like to think that, if done well, this can result in a much more striking product.”
